Janious Steed is an associate at Sattiraju & Tharney, LLP. She focuses her practice on commercial litigation and employment law.
Before joining the firm, Janious gained valuable insight into New York and New Jersey trial and appellate practice through her positions with the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Department, and with the New Jersey judiciary. Specifically, Janious served as a Judicial Intern to Hon. Jeffery A. Cohen, a Justice of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Second Judicial Department. Janious then served as a Law Clerk to Hon. Kathy C. Qasim, J.S.C., Hon. Yolanda Ciccone A.J.S.C. (Ret.), and Hon. Thomas C. Miller, Assignment Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Somerset County, Law Division.
Janious graduated from Vermont Law School, and was a Staff Editor of the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law. She wrote a note analyzing the ramifications of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Impression Products Inc. v. Lexmark International Inc. 137 S. Ct. 1523 (2017).
Before attending law school, Janious earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from State University of New York at New Paltz. She also was awarded a Paralegal Certificate from Westchester Community College.
